FAQ for employees

Registering with Interwel is easy. You can sign up via our online registration form. After you have registered, we will contact you as soon as possible. You can also email your CV to work@interwel.nl or call +31 522 242 520.

Anyone who works in the Netherlands and is liable for tax needs a BSN. If you do not have one yet, we will schedule an appointment upon your arrival in the Netherlands to apply for the number. If you already have a BSN, we need it for your personnel file and for processing payments.

When you start working through Interwel for the first time, you begin in Phase 1/2. This is a temporary contract for up to 52 weeks. After that, Phase 3 follows. This phase can be extended up to six times, with a total duration of three years. After Phase 3, you receive an open-ended contract in Phase 4. The total duration of the temporary phases can therefore be four years, unless circumstances require an exception.

We work digitally as much as possible. Therefore, you will receive a link that allows you to sign your contract online, including clear instructions for the steps.

Yes. Support starts even before the first working day. Upon arrival, you are welcomed at the accommodation and receive practical information such as working hours and breaks. On the first working day itself, a coordinator guides you at the workplace, explains the tasks, and provides a tour.

Our international employees stay in SNF-certified accommodation. These locations meet strict requirements for safety, hygiene, and quality of living. They are inspected annually to ensure these standards are maintained.

Our clients are located in Overijssel, Drenthe, and Friesland. Most workplaces are in or on the edge of these regions. Sometimes a workplace is outside this area, but usually no more than 45 minutes from the accommodation.

If necessary, we will arrange transport to and from the workplace. This can be by company car or bicycle. A company car may only be used for commuting. Naturally, you must adhere to the traffic regulations. If you use your own car for work, you will receive a mileage allowance. You will not be charged for work-related transport organised by Interwel.

If you cannot arrange your trip yourself, we can do it for you. We work with GTV Bus, a certified and well-insured company that provides international transport. If you have any questions, you can contact your point of contact.

The first payment is made in the second working week, on Thursday. After that, payment is made every Thursday.

Yes. Every employee is required to take out health insurance. If you do not have health insurance yet, we can easily arrange it for you through our collective insurance.

Always contact your coordinator first. Explain how you feel and what happened. If a visit to a doctor is necessary, we will arrange it for you.

Holiday allowance is 8.33% of your gross annual salary and is visibly accrued on your payslip. If you work for less than four weeks, all accruals are paid out automatically.

You are paid weekly. Your accrued holiday hours are paid as soon as we have received your holiday request and there are still sufficient hours available in your accrual balance.

In some cases, we apply the ET scheme. This scheme applies only to temporary workers recruited outside the Netherlands. The ABU collective labour agreement allows part of the gross salary to be exchanged for tax-exempt allowances for extraterritorial costs, such as accommodation. This applies only to the part of the salary above the statutory minimum wage. The scheme can be applied for a maximum of five years from your first working day in the Netherlands. Once you settle permanently in the Netherlands and your social life is here, the scheme ends. After the five-year period, ET costs are deducted from the net salary.
